Christopher Hershberger

I was born in Alaska and have lived all over the states. Through the years I've won a respectable amount of awards and earned multiple degrees in the arts. Absorbing the skill sets from multiple disciplines to all be incorporated into my artwork. Drawing, painting, and sculpting in traditional mediums as well as the digital. My work has evolved to blur the lines between all of them, transforming into something unique.

I always wanted to be an artist. From an early age I was drawn to the arts. Coming from a line of artists I was funneled a variety of mediums to start my artistic journey. Initially inspired by cartoons, animation, and then Bob Ross; I ultimately found fantasy art which is where my true passion lies. The years after this discovery I poured every waking moment into studying the art of comic books, Dungeons & Dragons, and Magic the Gathering primarily. Then I discovered some of the greats like James Gurney, Boris Vallejo, and Frank Frazetta and my mind was blown. I had to learn how this ‘wizardry’ was achieved.

For me art should tell a story, it shouldn't need an excerpt or any other explanation. A moment frozen in time, that makes you feel something. Art that does this becomes timeless. This is my goal, to make art people get excited about. The way I did as child when I first discovered the joys of fantasy art and the stories they could tell.
